چکیده

Introduction NOMID/CINCA is the most severe phenotype of cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS), characterized by persistence of inflammation-mediated symptoms and overproduction of interleukin (IL)-1b, associated with significant morbidity, if untreated. In CAPS-patients early initiation of anti-IL1b-treatment appears to prevent severe disease sequelae. However, canakinumab as a 1-line treatment in young infants suffering from NOMID has been scarcely reported.

Long-term safety and efficacy of Canakinumab in cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS) patients: results from beta-confident registry

Background CAPS encompasses a spectrum of three phenotypes: familial cold auto-inflammatory syndrome (FCAS), Muckle-Wells syndrome (MWS), and chronic infantile neurologic cutaneous and articular syndrome/neonatal onset multisystem inflammatory disease (CINCA/ NOMID)[1]. The b-Confident Registry, the largest CAPS cohort documented in a registry, enrolled the last patient in December 2014. Here, ...

Successful resolution of stromal keratitis and uveitis using canakinumab in a patient with chronic infantile neurologic, cutaneous, and articular syndrome: a case study.

BACKGROUND Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS) is a group of rare autoinflammatory diseases, and of these, chronic infantile neurologic, cutaneous, and articular/neonatal-onset multisystem inflammatory disease (CINCA/NOMID) syndrome has the most severe phenotype. Canakinumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-1β, has been shown to be an effective treatment for resolving s...

Successful management of cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome with canakinumab in infancy.

Neonatal onset multisystem inflammatory disease (NOMID)/chronic infantile neurologic cutaneous and articular (CINCA) syndrome is a rare, early-onset autoinflammatory disorder and the most severe form of cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome, which is associated with overproduction of interleukin (IL)-1β. This is a case report of a 70-day-old boy, who was diagnosed with NOMID/CINCA syndrome and...
